My next embroidery project did not go as well as my handkerchiefs. One of the gifts did not even make it to my friend as I still think I can do better. I'm not even going to show it here, because I don't want to ruin it for her.
First try...
My friend K always starts any g-chats with "Oh hi," and it makes me smile every time. I imagine her putting this in her entryway. The puckering really shows up in the picture, and it kind of makes me wish I hadn't given it to her until I mastered that. She seemed to like it any way. Again, I used my mom's embroidery software to create the design, and then transferred it to her machine. The fabric was some vintage fabric of my mom's that I thought suited K's aesthetic. I bought some wooden fabric hoops online and then spray painted them gold.

Second try...
My friend M has an amazing poodle, that you can see more of on her Tumblr, Big Poodle. How could I not make an homage to him? Again, the fabric was some vintage stuff of my mom's and I spray painted the hoop gold. I think for others going forward I want to get a more sparkly gold.

These were a lot of fun to make, and I think I'm getting better at it. I hope my friends don't mind if I keep practicing on them. Friends, you do not have to put these on your walls (or maybe just put them up when I come over).
